Stretching My Relaxer

Right now, I am more than twelve weeks post and my relaxer touch-up is due next month of December.  What I do between relaxer touch-ups is moisturizing and sealing both, my new growth and the remaining of relaxed hair, by applying a moisturizing leave-in and sealing it with coconut oil  Following this procedure, I would then put my hair in plaits as a protective style, and wear a wig over it when I go to work.

Back in March of 2011, I noticed my hairline was thinning after taking some self-portrait photos, motivating me to begin my healthy hair journey.  Beginning late June, I embarked on a hot oil treatment challenge, what I did was gather three essential oils and a carrier oil, Rosemary Oil, Peppermint Oil, Lavender Oil and Sweet Almond OilI would add twelve drops of the oils into a small applicator bottle and combine it with the carrier oil. I would mixed the contents together and apply it onto my scalp, particularly to the edges, once application is completed, I would place a shower cap over my head and sit under the dryer on medium setting for 15 minutes. Once 15 minutes is up, I would shampoo the remaining contents from my hair and proceed with conditioning and hydrating leave in treatments since I have relaxed hair.  Because I have relaxed hair, I would use hydrating shampoos and conditioners as part of  my regimenHere are some before and after photos of my progress.
